Klimapartnere: A Cross-Sector Partnership for Emission Reduction
Klimapartnere is a Norwegian partnership dedicated to practical climate action.
The partnership brings together close to 500 partners from the public and private sectors to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, foster green innovation, and support sustainable economic development. By connecting organizations across sectors, the partnership helps translate climate ambitions into measurable action and long-term value creation.
Cross-Sector Collaboration
Klimapartnere brings together partners representing all areas of Norwegian business and society:
- Business and Industry: Companies of all sizes, from startups to large industrial corporations, developing and implementing green market solutions.
- Public Sector: Municipalities, county councils, and government agencies working toward sustainable community development.
- Academia and Research: Universities and research institutions contributing data, expertise, and research-based insights.
- Non-Profit Organizations: Civil society organizations providing social and holistic perspectives on the green transition.
Methodology and Structure
The partnership is organized into 13 regional partnerships across Norway and operates through a structured, data-driven methodology. This approach is built around four core elements:
- Executive Commitment: Partners commit to anchoring their climate strategies at the board level to ensure effective implementation and accountability.
- Carbon Accounting: Partners receive access to tools and support for preparing annual, structured greenhouse gas inventories and emissions reports.
- Cross-Sector Synergy: The partnership facilitates collaboration between public and private actors to develop innovative low-emission solutions and accelerate the green transition.
- National Solution Bank: Partners gain access to the «National Solution Bank,» a shared repository of best practices, tools, and scalable climate measures that can be adapted and replicated across sectors.
- Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a common methodology, Klimapartnere enables partners to strengthen their climate performance while contributing to sustainable societal and economic development.
